Efecto Terapéutico de los Parques Urbanos. Envejecimiento y Calidad de Vida

Resumen

La población cada vez es más longeva y esto puede suponer un factor de riesgo para la aparición del deterioro cognitivo y enfermedades neurodegenerativas. Esto puede conllevar, una afectación funcional, cognitiva, emocional y social. Una forma de prevenir, estimular o ralentizar la evolución de un deterioro progresivo es recurrir a las terapias no farmacológicas. Entre las diferentes terapias, en este trabajo se opta por la exposición, conexión e interacción con la naturaleza, en un contexto como pueden ser los parques naturales, parques urbanos o públicos, jardines o bosques con un doble propósito. Por una parte, se produce una activación mental, debido a los diferentes estímulos a través de los sentidos con la información que se registra y percibe en un entorno natural y ecológico. Pero por otra parte, obtener lo efectos positivos de la naturaleza que propicia estados saludables, creativos y felices. En este sentido, asumir el binomio envejecimiento-naturaleza, se trata de entender que el contacto con la naturaleza genera una activación funcional, cognitiva, emocional y social. En definitiva, una mejor calidad de vida, bienestar y conexión con la vida.
